Our School - House Names

The faction names all have historical links to the community. Roe (Red) and Henty (Gold).

John Septimus Roe arrived in Western Australia in 1829 aboard ‘Parmelia’. He was Surveyor General of the colony from 1829 – 1870. Roe selected a grant of 2160 acres which included the ‘considerable valley’ and the present townsite of Roelands.
Roe faction is red because Roelands Primary School colours were red and black.

The Henty Brothers arrived in Western Australia in 1829 aboard ‘Caroline’. The Henty Brothers selected 69,000 acres immediately south of Roe and Shenton on the south bank of the Collie River in the Burekup area.
Henty faction is gold because Burekup Primary School colours were gold and black.
