Teaching & Learning - Library
The school library provides a large range of resources for the students to borrow, with a Library Officer in attendance on Thursday each week. The library offers and inviting place for students to develop a love of reading.
Student Borrowing
Students must have a library bag in order to borrow books. Books are borrowed for a period of one week, but can be renewed. The number of books a student is able to borrow depends on their year level.
If books are not returned, children may not be allowed to borrow further books until their return, or they may be requested to leave books in their classroom.
If Library books or resources are lost or damaged, parents may be asked to pay the replacement cost.
Accessit - Library Management System
RVPS has a cloud based Library Management System introduced in 2022. Being cloud based it can be accessed from both home and school, by staff and students.
There are lots of exciting features in this system. Students have the ability to drive their own library experience: searching for books by subject, author, series, genre or title; see how many copies are available, lexile level; and view new books.
Through their own unique dashboard, students can create and save a list of books from the library, that they wish to read in the future; view their loans, overdues and loan history.
The search function can be used without a login.
